Trauma

Trauma is regarded as an “abnormal” experience which is so excessively stressful as to be most likely to result in symptoms of an acute stress reaction. After a traumatic event it is recommended to consult a psychologist, because, if untreated, the result may be Post Traumatic Stress.

Don’t underestimate the effects of a traumatic event (high-jacking, smash–and-grab, pick-pocketing, eye witnessing a crime). Grant yourself the opportunity to put this in perspective.
